the center of each fork tube cap.Other details include brazed in panels and gussets, retro sprung seat, zoomy vintage chain-guard, integral water-jet cut 1/4" titanium rear rack with 6-4 titanium stays and a pull handle (for when I'm skateboarding), and a titanium "EAST VAN" cross head tube badge.
The frame was powder coated an ultra girly pink to offset the major toughness and all the aluminum parts were anodized black to up the stealth factor.
This is my first custom bike and I had such a fun time building it, I think I will build a bike for myself- probably a custom 24" BMX cruiser featuring white Tuff IIs and all gold components to compliment my girl's bicycle.  Looking forward to a fun summer of cruising!

Derek Young: Tough Grrrl's Urban Cruiser
Based on a Norco girls 26" beach cruiser frame, I built this single-speeder as a tough-as-nails beach cruiser/city bike for my girlfriend for her birthday.  The intention was to create something totally custom, but practical enough for her to make her 2km downtown commute to work, as well as regular rides around Stanley Park and other destinations in our fair city of Vancouver.
It features 24" Skyway Tuff IIs with Maxxis Hookworm 24" x 2.5" urban downhill tires.  I designed, programmed and CNC machined all the fork components, including custom hubs to adapt an Avid mechanical disc brake to the front wheel.  The fork features a pair of machined aluminum triple clamps, 1" x 1/16" wall 3-2.5 titanium fork tubes, bolt on dropouts with a provision for caliper mounting, a custom personalized stem, and mini pink rhinestones in
the center of each fork tube cap.Other details include brazed in panels and gussets, retro sprung seat, zoomy vintage chain-guard, integral water-jet cut 1/4" titanium rear rack with 6-4 titanium stays and a pull handle (for when I'm skateboarding), and a titanium "EAST VAN" cross head tube badge.
