Hey, I'm Wes Tully from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.This is my leadsled, hope the pictures are good enough. It was made from a beat-up Raleigh and conduit pipe as welding practice. It has a Sturmey Archer 5-speed hub with a shimano 3-speed stick shift and bar shifter. The forks are home-made springers. It's fast and cool, my mountain bike hasn't been touched all summer. Winter is long and cold here, so I should have about 3 more of these done by next March. There are quite a few other freaks up here with similiar creations. I was inspired by your site and The Horse magazine, I didn't get Discovery channel until last march and I'm not that impressed actually. It's great to see a forum for people who like to build things for themselves in this day and age where even Popular Mechanics has been taken over by Yuppies. |
