Finally, my wife noticed there was no bike for her. We did not think she would care to ride a chopper-style bike with long forks, so we made something totally different. The bike (Mackay 4, below) was constructed for comfort. Now, when we ride together there are plenty of curious bikers and lots of questions. I have been building bikes off and on since I was 8 yrs. old. I am now in my forties with sons of my own. Looking at the welder in the corner of the garage and watching American Chopper has given me those old building ideas again. The first bike (Mackay 1) was really just an experiment, but turned out not too bad. |
My oldest son's (Mackay 2) bike took a little more thought, plus some ideas from him. By then it was on to the other son's bike (Mackay 3) where we started to have new ideas. |
