Here are a few pictures of my adult sized krate bike. I liked the choppers and krate bikes that came out in the 70's. I always wanted to build one but, bmx bikes became popular and my interest shifted to building and racing bmx bikes. Fast forward 20-plus years. A neighbor gave me a 24" banana seat bike. First I made it a driver by adding wheels and tires. I enjoyed it for a summer. The following summer I stripped and painted it. I added parts from my bmx bikes and Lovely Low Rider to create my adult-sized krate bike. During the build I kept thinking about building a bobber-style bike. This past summer I had the bike apart again. I cut and widened the rear of the frame to allow for a 3" wide Dyno Fireball tire. I removed the banana seat, chain guard, 20" front wheel and fender, added a beach cruiser seat and 24" front wheel, repainted the frame, and I was ready to ride again. The best part is I can easily change it back to the krate. Thanks for the great webzine. Lee Pollard
