Event  Coverage by Frank Russo. In July, the first Locster Summerglide took place in Mönchengladbach (Germany) . The event's motto "Life is a beach" was supported by warm, sunny  weather.
.
Among the steadily increasing number of standard cruisers and choppers,  the number of kustomized/modified  bikes is growing.  Meanwhile  more and more parts are available and easier to buy in German shops/online-shops; and everybody wants to personalize
Completely scratch-built bikes attracted attention. The work on some bikes showed attention to every detail; and some bikes can keep up in international comparison.
Most  visitors took part in a one-hour-cruise through the city.  The traffic partly stopped, motorists and pedestrians turned their heads
The highlights of the day were 2 bikes that looked like  Harley Davidsons (but without a motor). The 110lb-heavy custom-bikes from  König / Cologne were built with motorbike-wheels, the black one has a car-rim. The bikes are easy to ride, although there wasn't a chance to test on longer routes.
Winner of a funny "Best of Show" competition was, surprisingly, a Low-Budget Bike, self-welded by the owner and still not finished in every detail.
Praise goes to the organizer, who made sure things ran smoothly  with barbecue, a DJ and free drinks. For sure, the meet next year will be bigger; and for the winter season an indoor-Cruise Is planned. BR&K will be there.
